I'm reposting this from Passion.

I am not as big of a poster as a lurker, but thought this would boil some peoples bottoms and the rants here can be pretty interesting...

bill proposed to stop the use of baby carriers on public roads:

My opinions are probably similar to yours, but lets hear yours (and let them hear yours)
I'm annoyed. I use my bike trailor often and responsibly, sometimes on the sidewalk but getting up and down curbs is not easy, even when they have proper cuts in them. Being restricted to the sidewalk (and the bikepaths, which is where I do most of my miles but I've got to get to the paths) would suck.

I just took a look at it. My guess is that the law will go through because children are involved. It seems like anytime their is a child welfare issue involved the legislature will pass a law. Look at the kids in the car unattended. I think a kid has to be 18 or something like that before you can run in the store for a minute. I am glad I dont have any kids cause I would probably leave them in the car with the dogs and get thrown in jail.

You want a nightmare? Your kid is asleep in the car. You're in the middle of an urban area. You have to take a leak. It sucks. Out in the sticks you can just hop out on some sideroad, but in the city I'm afraid of getting a arrested. for public indecency and leaving my kid in the car.
