you are correct but I am having a custom bike built and I need the 4x104 to work, I already have the S-Works road cranks and just need to swap the spider over. the MTB cranks use an 84mm wide BB30 shell where as everyone else uses a 68 or 73mm BB shell.

398g includes
Both 175mm arms
2 Ceramic Bearings
snap rings, spacers and wave washer

everything but the spider and chainrings

I will be running belt drive, the belt sprocket is very light

I'm just hoping some one has a bike with the cranks and had upgraded to the 2x9 spider and doesn't need the triple spider anymore, I am having a hard time finding the 4x104 spider

Hi i have the complete 2009 epic s-works with the standard 3x9 setup. I have wanted to change to 2x9 since i got it. If you can get a hold of the 2x9 spider i would be happy to swap, otherwise i will let you know if i get it myself, then you can have the 3x9 spider.
Please send me an email if you have interest.

I have the 3x9 now and am changing to 2x9. I have the 2x9 chainrings and spider, but need to get the chainring bolts. If I can get the bolts anytime soon and get these parts changed over I would consider offering the triple spider to you.

Why don't you just order the spider off the Specialized website? It looks like both the double and triple spiders are available now... @ $75 a pop....

I got my spider but the cranks are too narrow to clear the stays, I ended up getting the first pair of ExtraLite BB30 cranks in the states. Saving the Spec cranks for a custom cross bike I will have built later this year
