Trek 69er

I just bought one and I had only ridden a SS once before (GF Rig). I just fell in love with the bike. The color, the concept (69er), and especially the fork. I wouldn't think about trading it out. To each his own I guess.

tuning setup that worked for me.

air side. 3-5ml redrum top and bottom. 80 psi of air (this is really where the magic is, i very much noticed a 5psi difference in air. rode the same small 200m loop of roots/rocks at race pace. added 5psi and it sucked huge, rear end kicked me everywhere. took out 5psi and it was amazing. so its worth messing with)

damper Side. 20wt, 40psi.

i'm 5' 10" and 175lbs.
the first two inches of travel are like being on a cloud, the second 2 are pretty well damped. i had to work really hard to find bottom with these settings.

mav fork

I test rode a 69er and loved the thing but was not sold on the fork. Nobody at the shop had input on the fork and I heard they are going away from them next year although no one from Trek will confirm it one way or the other. I assume that means they are dropping that fork... I am looking at a ti Carver 96 now.
