Anyone expecting a Fedex package from Speedgoat and didn't receive it?

Fedex shipped something to me from Speedgoat.

The shape of the box suggest it is some kind of hand laced wheel. (Fedex wont let me open it and took it back).

It is for a Mike Dal######

It has my office address on it, but should have went to El Dorado Hills.

If this is you, please call fedex ASAP.

More importantly, I am still waiting for my package...

I had something similar happen with Speedgoat years ago. I got a ship notification for something, and assume SG recalled it before it could be delivered. I think I may have emailed the ship notification to them with a "huh?" added.

As long as they keep sending me the stuff I do order, I'll remain happy with them. :)
I think there's a law stating that if something it shipped to you that you didn't order, you get to keep it for free... too lazy to do a search right now, but I remember a commercial on TV as a kid with an eskimo opening a package with a fan in it, saying "gee, thanks!"

of course, its always good karma to call and help out the store, but I'm pretty sure the law's on your side if you open up something addressed to you, and you want to keep it.
I was being honest and gave the package back to the UPS guy, and also called Speedgoat and told them about it.

But at this point, should I contact the bike shop where I ordered my product (which I still dont have), or should I contact Fedex.

Seems like party at fault here is Fedex. They actually left it at someone's house door without a signature (b/c it wasn't reqeusted by the bike shop). And they made the mistake on the shipping address by sticking a "new correct address" over a originally correct delivery address on the mis-delivered package.

I think I am being naive if I think the other party will be honest and call it in to fedex to return it.

Who do you all think I should contact/ what to do now?
I had something similar happen (I received ten pairs of dress shoes - ?!?!? - instead of a toy) and contacted the people who sold me the toy. They then dealt with the shipper. It ended up being the shipper's fault. The sticker for my package got transferred to the box with shoes somehow and my package floated around who knows where.
Anyone that knows any history would be paranoid about getting free things they don’t expect.. The story about the Trojans is always a fun lesson. The Unabomber seemed to enjoy sending surprise presents to all sorts of lucky people.

If I received any packages I didn’t expect, my fear would win over my greed and I would send it back. With computers, printers and scanners it’ easy to copy anything official looking.
OT: im gonna just plug jensonusa, i ordered my $hit on monday, and fedex is gonna have it here by tomorow, friday! sick
Wait, I'm confused. You said you ordered it from Speedgoat, right? Then you said, "should I just contact the bike shop where I ordered it?" correct? Please clarify.

No, I ordered it from Redbarn, but a package from speedgoat came to me, has someone else's name on it, but with my address. (This is on the "New correct address" sticker)

Then there's a old address label with the other guy's name and address on it.

Infact, the tracking number isn't even mine.
Great ad

Effective, too -- we both remember it after a few dozen years... or more. Seems like they should hire that ad exec to produce "The More You Know" spots. Heck, I might have memorized my rights back then if they were presented in the same fashion. Oh well -- at least I recall the three that really matter, thanks to The Clash. :band:

Maybe someone ordered you a gift and you just refused it!!!!
Those wheels could be yours.

It sounds like they were just cutting and pasting shipping address labels online. I ship the same way and you have to enter the info on each line of the label that way. If you mess up the copy command you put old info into the new label.

The way to fix the problem is to call the bike company, but I guess posting it on here serves some purpose?
