Has anyone here ever done the 24 Hours of Dino in Indiana? I went to the website but there is only a date. No more information is available on their website other than the date, not even past results or photo's. What is the course like? How many people? Facilities at the race (i.e. camping or is there a lodge nearby)? etc.

Thanks!

The race is held at Winona Lake in No. IN. The trail is about 9 miles long or so and average lap times range in the low 40's to mid 50's. It is a super fast trail when dry and gets your inner gyroscope going. Can get a little tedious after a while because it isn't really "epic" but it is the only 12/24 race in Indiana at present. There a couple of circus type stunts in the trail that sneak up on you. One in particular (a silly steep log drop that comes from nowhere) has sent someone home in an ambulance at several races. Last year was no exception.

The race promoters do a top notch job with planning and anticipating problems. Turnout is decent but it isn't exactly a HUGE event. The DINO site lists results for past DINO races so you can get an idea of number of participants. Look under "Results". Last year the weather was horrible. Weather in the 30's, driving rain and 60 mph wind gusts. It kept a lot of people from coming out and sent even more home early.
