I always thought this was a neat frame design and wondered if anybody had ever made a klunker out of one? At one time, we had a real rough one that I wouldn't have felt too bad about converting but his one is a little too nice. It is not on this one, but we have a wheel built up with a Stewart Warner "floating" hub that offered a little bit of suspension travel (similar to the later Isolator hub).

air cooled hub!

That frame is too unique to klunkerize. There are plenty of cantilever frames out there.
You can even find aluminum ones.

Back whenthey were making the klunkers, this would have just been an old bike. It seems like the design might have some passive suspension to it. Not sure about the durability but bikes often broke at the joints and this one only has 4 as opposed to 22 joints (from the original ad materials)
