Anybody has ordered wheels from Chain Reaction Cycles?

Yeah, I just want to know if anybody has bought wheelsets from CRC and how long did they take to ship and how much did you pay in import taxes or so. I ask this because I want to order a wheelset and send it to a friend's house in USA.

Cheers

Sometime over the winter I ordered hope pro 2's laced to 823's with a 990 cassette attached, came to a total of $407. Wheel set came in about a week and a half if I recall correctly (Western New York at the time). I also believe that part of that $407, around $22 was a collection of taxes, import stuff and charge from my cc company.
Did you get charged to your CC or you had to pay the courier when they delivered the package to your house?
It got charged right to my cc, but it might differ depending on your company, I'm sure you can call them up and find that information up, and even how much it might be. That card was with HSBC.
i also ordered wheels from them over the winter. Xt's laced to 717's for my girlfriend. We didn't pay any taxes and shipping was free. There was however a currency conversion charge of about 25$ that the credit card company charged. It took about a week to get them.
i ordered a set hope2 hubs bolton rear with 721s 36 spoke i used paypal and the total i paid was $360.02 they were delivered by the post office
i ve been beating on them for 3 months including shuttle runs and they have been great
i used paypal because of hearing about cc fraud after bought fron CRC
Thanks for the responses!
I got a set of the 09 Deemax a few months ago and they were cheap (UK exchange rate was favorable for a few weeks) Shipped to my door for $580 and no taxes!
My timing was good... I ordered a wheelset for my trail bike when the pound tanked. I got Hope Pro II/Mavic 719 disc/XT cassette for $320 w/ free shipping. Shipping time was under 2 weeks.
So half of you guys had taxes billed to your CC card and the other half didn't get charged? Nice to know.
I've ordered a lot of parts from them and never get charged any taxes, the prices they advertise on their site are the prices they've charged me. If your order is over $230(?) it ships for free and I usually get my stuff within 3 days to the East Cost.

Have never order complete wheelsets though.
Why won't they sell the Mavic wheels outside the UK? I'd like to pick up a pair of the 09 Deetraks.
AFAIK they DO sell outside UK.
Yea they do send deetraks outside the EU

Both my mates bought a set of 09 Deetraks each and were in Australia, shouldnt be any different for the US
That's good to know. I was just wondering because when you scroll down through the description of the Mavic wheels, at the bottom it says - NOT AVAILABLE OUTSIDE THE EU.

I'm in San Diego and the longest its taken to get an order to my doorstep has been 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. Some have come within a week though.
Ordered a set of Pro II's on EQ31 shipped to my door for $235 back in February...no taxes but I also got hit with the conversion fee from my cardholder. It was like $25 or so...honestly could care less with the amazing price I paid for the wheels. Also shipped to Eastern PA in 4 business days.

Care to elaborate on the CC fraud comment? I buy stuff from CRC all the time, I hope this is not something new to worry about? I have enough crap to worry about as it is.
