I have XT quick release hubs (M756) and would like to try to stiffen them up a little. Is there any conversion to a bolt on type or something that would help the rigidity, especially the front hub? Maybe a new axle for the hub? Anyone have any experience with doing this? Mainly, what parts would I need and where could I get them? I know I should have gone with 20mm :madman:

Yep, making it a bolt on hub will stiffen things up quite a bit, especially on the front, and only really slow down flat fixes.

And don't forget transporting the bike if you need to remove the front wheel.

Thanks for the links. just what I was thinking about. Does anyone know if they make the nuts that would work with an allen key, rather then a wrench. I know Chris King makes some for their hubs, but it's really a bolt not a nut and works totally different. It would be nice not to have to carry a wrench.

North Shore Billet makes 10mm Go Nuts for the rear axle. I haven't seen anything similar for the front axle.

i m using titanium bolt-on skewer on hope pro 2 hub, you can get it from Aspirevelotech. Superb customer service!

My buddy has DT's RWS system front quick release. Some people have reported breaking them, though. His is fine after about 6 months or so. I have the 9mm through bolt version and it works great, too.

I would try a set of bolt on QRs first. I went that way and it stiffen up the front of my XC bike alot. You can get them fairly cheap and you will save weight over standard QRs.
