I'm changing the old oil in my 888RC2X this week or next and I'm debating wether or not to do it my self or take it in. I've never opened a fork before, so I'm a bit reluctant, but just for a fork service, my LBS wants $75.
I do ALL the wrenching on my bike, I'm pretty mech. sound I think. This would be the first time I've ever taken it in for anything.
Give me tips, hints, instructions, clues, ect. for chaning the oil, or just let me know I'm in over my head here.
Also, for a heavy guy, should I up the oil weight?
I'm thinking so, but to what? I weigh 235ish, sometimes more.

I've decided not to mess with it after all, Skate gave me some info on working with the 05's but w/ the 06's there is a air pre-load adj. knob on the top caps so I'm thinking there is an air chamber/volume assembly in the top end of the stantions somewhere, and I don't wanna go around messing with something that I'm not too knowledgeable about and in turn, if I do screw it up somehow, void my warrenty.
