Driving down from Canada to attend a wedding in johnson creek which is between Madison and Milwaukee, coming down in August for about a week.
I don't mind driving to good trails so anywhere within a couple of hours drive of Johnson creek is fine
Experienced MTB'er who love's the singletrack
Thanx

Check out FatTireGuides.com for more up-to-date reviews. And check out MadCityDirt .com for local trail rides going on at Cam-Rock and the Madison area trails. I wpuld also try to get to Blue Mound, within your 2 hour window, and worth your travel time for sure.

Hope to see you on the trails.

Johnson Creek should be a real good jumping off point for you. A lot of stuff within about an hours ride (though different directions).

The top 3 to hit would be Blue Mound, Cam-rock, and Southern Kettles. If you want to punish yourself, you could probably do Blue Mound and Cam-rock in the same day, but you'll probably be pretty beat up after Blue Mound. The southern kettles also have enough trail to give you a day's worth of riding (well actually just a few hours, but you probably won't be wanting to ride anymore after that).

If you still have time after those, you can consider heading over to Milwaukee. The Metro Mountain Bikers have developed several trail systems in recent years. None of them are all that big, so you can hit several (or all) of them in one day. There are also some additional smaller trail systems around Madison.
