Are there any recent HCR owners? I've not seen much reviews from 2004 onwards. Any owners of 04/05 HCR around? Want to get a HCR, needs some convincing... :)

I've also read in some post about the limited tire clearance on the rear. What's the maximum tire size with good MUD clearance?

Thanks!

I got a HCR upgrade after my Riddler broke. The drive side chainstay is bent in further to provide extra chain clearance. It does limit tire choice a bit. I haven't tried to see how big a tire will fit. My winter snowcat/fattie would not work. I did try my 2.3 nbx and it has some mud clearance. If you are planning on running some of the newer 2.35's which are actually 2.35 I think mud clearance would be an issue.

Rides great..............

How is the ride? I've noticed that the HA and SA angles are abit different as compared the the standard 71, 73.
It has a bit steeper ht angle than I am used to but is fine. I think I could run an inch longer frork and be ok.

Just came back from LBS to take a look at the frame. The welds are very clean and even. Although the welds are not as small as IF or Seven, the finishing is top notch for the price. I'm quite surprise that there's not much reviews recently... This bike should sell well based on the finishing and price. This is a very good deal compared to the other Ti makers in the same price range.

Noticed there's also a weld across the seat tube near the top. The weld starts that the seatstay joint/weld and extends across to the top tube joint/weld. Wonder what's that for?

That is a fusion weld, and is there to attatch a small piece of ti on the inside of the seat tube to strengthen it as it sticks out.

I think that's what it's for anyway, at least that's what the same weld in the same place on a moots does.

I've got an 04 HCR. I dont see how you can wider than a 2.1 fire xc pro in the rear. chainstay is kinda tight.(tho chainring clearance is massive) I would have prefered more even tyre & chainring clearance..
The breezer style dropouts are certainly pretty, but they dont make for the fastest r.whl change. My headtube reaming wasnt perfectly, perfectly smooth, although no problems in use.
These are fairly minor moans tho.. Overall very pleased. very resilient to rocky downhills & flying rock impacts (compared to the yeti arc which the HCR replaced. pretty stable, fairly light & as mentioned a good price...

pretty weird having no frame number tho..
