And is the Salsa a good choice for a chainring?

Thanks.

Sure. They should fit, I run those cranks on the backup bike and they should be 104 like the ring says. No experience with Salsa rings but all my buddies that have them swear by them!!

A fine choice. I run a Salsa on my XT.
Do as you wish, but....................

Personally I am willing to embrace the slight weight penalty of Surly's steel ring in exchange for longevity.

Bolt and go. As others, I use that config. The ring seems to be doing fine so far. :)

EDIT: Sparticus has a point, steel works well too. I personally like saving 25 g on bits here and there. Now before yallz start talkin bout p!ssing and [email protected] before the ride...... :D
Ok, cool.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Fits like a glove and the Salsa ring lasts a long while.
They last a long time . I use Salsa's on my fixie. Just stay up on your chain wear and rotate the ring 90 degrees every once and awhile.
You do have to mount it inside-out to use it in the big ring position.
Do you have a bash ring or single ring chain ring bolts? If not you will need one or the other.
