I just got an Iphone4 and I have been checking the apps available, I found one, Motion GPS lie which is like a hand held GPS with way points and such. and I was wondering if any of you have found any other handy apps with maybe trail maps or such good for biking and trails...?? Do we have an app for this site even maybe???

check out cyclemeter. I just DL'ed that one and it looks like it is going to work pretty well. I recently posted a very similar thread and got a few responses so search for that. I think I called it "iphone apps"

I use Kinetic for the iphone. It is almost in synce with my edge.

Thanks for all the response everyone, I looked at all these suggestions from the app store, downloaded the Trailhead, looks ok,. I think my Motion GPS lite works about as good as any for tracking , location, and such, check it out.

I have the full motion gps and it is awesome and very accurate since it uses the satellites and not the cell phone towers.

I have the Motion X GPS Lite, I think so far it looks like the best , I am going to use it on my next ride and see how accurate it is.I am so glad I got an Iphone with all these apps to pick from, so cool how one device can do what so many other device used to do.

I actually used cyclemeter the other day and was amazed at how accurate it was. It even got a little circle I did in a parking lot right before I arrived back home. I think it is gonna work really well and enable me to explore new places where i would normally need an escort who knows the trails better than I do. It is fairly reassuring knowing that my chances of getting lost and having to spend a night in the woods are greatly reduced with this tech that i can literally hold in the palm of my hand!

Ill have to take a look at those apps. I use the Panorama app for cool landscape pics and "poser shots" and my camera the most. Gives me a way to document my rides and take pictures/video of my friends and I having fun. The iphone4 takes awesome pictures for a phone

Right now in App Store there are two cyclemeters. Is it the free one or the pay one that you like?

I have been using cyclemeter for about 5 months and it works great! I do have a handlebar mounted computer also which i use for HR/Calories and so i can see everything while riding (phone stays in pocket), and i trust that as being the most accurate since you set wheelsize. as far as distance and speed goes, cyclemeter is almost identical in the readings, and i really like how it stores the route you take and logs all the miles and all other data so you can view by day/week/month/year or total. And as others have stated, it even shows small loops made through parking lots, etc.

I found one that I prefer to the one I suggested, and it doesn't come up in the gps search. It's called Skimble, it's free and it's good
