any mtb rides in the valley this weekend?

Due to the swim practice driving schedule (mine), a few of us are toying with a mellow ride on Sat. AM at SoMo - probably East/West Loops, Javelina, Ridgeline, Beverly Canyon. TBD, but not crack of dawn.

It's gonna be effin' hot :madmax: this Saturday so it better be a crack-o-dawn ride. I know Hinc and I talked about toyin' around at SoMo Saturday morning. Again, nuttin crazy just some good fun. :thumbsup: Lots of techy stuff for Mark!

I gotta get off my lazy arse and buy a 20T or 21T for the 29'er/SS. That 34/18 gearing is going to kick my butt (even more so in the oven). Anyone know of an LBS that would stock the blingy ENO Freewheel?

Saturday Road Ride - AZClydesdale and I will likely be meeting at The Farm at Southern & 32nd St to ride up SoMo to the towers and back. Total mileage about 30. Breakfast at the Farm (if it's open) after the ride. Details still being worked out but will probably meet at 6AM.... if you are interested in joining, let me know!!

Sunday SoMo Old Man's Trail - Been planning this one with Epicrider and Lynnette. Meet at my house in Ahwatukee at 6AM. Ride Desert Classic, up Mormon/National, then down Old Man's and back to the pool. Anyone care to join? This sounds interesting, that was a fun ride last time. Does meet at 6 = FIP? It's gonna be stupid hot this weekend.

Yup, it's going to be stupid hot even if we were to start at 3AM! I just spent the last 10 minutes mowing the tiny grass patch in my backyard and blowing off the patio and I'm a sweaty mess.

Let's make it FIP @ 6AM from my house on SUNDAY for the Old Man's SoMo ride. Anyone need directions? PM me!

btw Mike - you have a towel at my house that you left from the last ThNR so you're all set for the pool.

My parents are on their way here and will be arriving Sat night or Sunday morning. Either way, I'm gonna have to help with unloading stuff into the storage unit so I'm out for Sunday morning. Although, now we'll have both sets of grandparents here for babysitting! It doesn't get any better than that.

So who's up for a really mellow ride Sat morning? I figure just play around on some stuff b/c it's gonna be way to hot to log serious miles. Plus, I'm tired and don't want to put 20 miles on the dirt.

Is that a Saturday or Sunday for the ride at Shaw Butte?

I like the sound of this...............I have yet to see more than DC and Mormon out there.

Return is via Old Man and some DC. Old Man is the trail that heads to the south from the saddle before Buena Vista.
