My wife and I live in Shadyside and are looking to purchase our first bikes in a couple weeks. We've been talking to the owners of Quick Service Bicycle Shop in Martins Ferry, which is where we'll be buying our Trek's, and they had mentioned the trails up in Weirton. Once I get some experience and build up my stamina, I'd love to get up there and ride...
Go to Quickservice bike shop over in Bridgeport, Ohio. Right across the river from Wheeling. There are trails in Moundsville which is 20 minutes away from Wheeling, located at Grand Vue Park. There is also a trail system at Barkcamp State Park in Morristown, Ohio, which is 30 minutes away. Ask for Dave Crow at the bike shop. He organizes weekly group trail rides in the Wheeling area. This is a follow up to the original question regarding trails in the Wheeling area. I will be going there for a family reunion in two weeks and will be looking for riding opportunities since I am not a golfer. Are there trails in this area or will it be best to travel over to the Pittsburgh area? Are there any bike shops in the area that might have some suggestions about what trails to ride?
