I just moved back to LA (spent 7 months here last year), and I've only really enjoyed 2 rides - the Suicide DH trail in Thousand Oaks, and Sullivan Canyon DH before the oil company destroyed it... Oh, and the Kenter woops is pretty fun, but I'm looking for trails I can really open up on and hammer around turns at speed.

I haven't ridden Sullivan since I've been back so I'm not sure how it is these days. But, are there some other good fun fast flowy freeride and very technical single track trails around?

I am used to riding really fast and flowy single track in Colorado, resort DH trails, city park trail (emma long) in Austin TX, and Moab. I am into very technical XC, super fast and flowy turns on smooth XC trails, and freeride type trails.

What trails are out there in and around LA (within a reasonable drive)???

You can try Hummingbird in Simi valley, just make sure to ride early or late b/c its getting hot. I prefer going up Johnson's motorway, riding down hummingbird and back up the road to the car. Probably not nearly as technical as colorado or moab, but still fun...

Good to know these other links! I'm new to mountain biking and in the South Bay area...apparently there's nothing much nearby here. I'm still working on some repairs before I even get onto a trail for the first time (scary to admit that)!
