The Fox CS said the TALAS III cartridge is more easily consumer serviceable whereas the TALAS II is not, requiring a special $60 tool.

The '09s are a hair lighter.

Has anyone tried opening up and working on the '09s (I'd doubt it since these just came out)?

I'd pay extra for an '09 for easier serviceability, but the price differerence may be the cost of a Fox tuneup anyhow.

What'dy boys think? I know I can turn to the Turner Homers for advice...

I'd put a 36 TALAS on the Spot (2009) but if I got the RFX, I'd probably run the Vanilla. However, if the 2009 36 TALAS is better at dealing with small bumps than the older ones, I'd spring for that just for the adjustability.

I say go for the 2009 TALAS for sure.

Just my 2c in air, if I had to choose air for the RFX I'd go for a Wotan myself without all that bar crap, I like Magura's stuff, so Im a little biased and I've never gotten ove my first talas ride experience I just can't like that fork in the 36, I had a talas rlc125 and in its day it was a sweet fork but so much has improved since then!

Air = Wotan for me, but RFX's should be coiled omo though:p :D

ya want air get a 5.5 spot:thumbsup:
