Been running 27.5+ 2.8 on a hardtail and been curious about a 2.6 with the same sidewall height as a 2.8.

Idea is not to lose the vertical compliance but maybe reduce side to side tire deflection.

What’s out there?

Not sure if you are aware, but tires are round in cross section because they are inflated by a pressurized gas that exerts equal force in all directions.

I’ve run 2.8s and 2.6s on a 35mm rim. The 2.6s feel much better. The 2.8s felt way too round.

Ok maybe it could work.

Main concern is ride height/pedal strikes.
