Hello,

I have a friend with an '06 Giant Anthem that is having chainsuck issues. Has anyone else experienced this with this frame?

He noticed that it is happening when shifting while the suspension is active.

Any help on this issue would be great. Thanks.

Matt

Alot of things can cause chain suck. Too much lubrication, worn chain or rings, or just plain ol' dirt and mud. I don't know what is causing yours, but these are just some ideas.

When you say that suspension is active... do you just mean that it happens when going over rough terrain?

Also how well aligned are his derailleurs?

Possibly ask him to re-think his shifting technique. Easing off the pedals while you shift and not trying to shift over very bumpy terrain. A combination of these factors could be the cause of the chain suck.
