Been a longtime lurker and have built several lights. Like many of you I have spent way too many hours reading threads over and over in an attempt to design the next "perfect" light. My wife is wondering about the severity of my obsessive compulsive disorder. Anyway much thanks to so many of you that help educate the rest of us. I want to build a small format XML light with a 1.25" x 1.25" square tubing housing with heat sinking fins cut in it (with 1" x 1" internal dimensions), and a Laura optic. I have found this driver as an option that will fit in this housing and is inexpensive. It claims to put out 3 amps, but there are no posts where anyone has used it and verified the data. Has anyone used this driver? Does it in fact put out the 3 amps? Would it need heatsinking? Hoping this is a good option. What do you all think? I have considered the taskled offerings, but have not figured out a way to stay in the small size envelope I am hoping for. THANKS for any feedback you may have!! Still learning a lot!
