Another St. Helens "ready" question

I have a friend from Bend who is bringing a pack up this way in a couple weeks (Yeah, can you believe it! Oregonians actually heading North!) for rides on Ape Canyon/Plains of Abe, Lewis River, and Falls Creek Shuttle.
Current info on Falls Creek as well as snow/blowdown appreciated. Skipping trying to tell them how to do the loop off Plains.

Actually you might want to post this question in the Oregon Forum. That is usually where I find updates on St Helens and Falls Creek in particular first. The Portland riders are usually there before us.

True dat!
Great info like how Siouxon road is washed out a few miles away from the trail, so it's less likely to run into hikers on that trail...

Of course i still haven't gone down there to take advantage of that tip... hmmmm....
Just heard today that Ape Canyon/Plains of Abraham is rideable, with just a few small snow patches. Take it for what it's worth though, I'm gettin this second hand.
Thanks. Anything helps at this point. They were planning on coming up the weekend of the 27th-28th.

Any news on Falls Creek? I've heard the road is out so shuttling isn't an option. (Not that that is a bad thing...)

Hey Borneo, if they do end up riding there end of the month, can you post their conditions report here? I'm planning on riding there for the first time early July.

Thanks!
Sure thing,

Will ask for a report and pass along...
Falls Creek is open and clean

I rode Falls Creek last weekend (Sunday June 14th) and its in great shape. There is some snow at the very top, perhaps 5 or 6 patches where we needed to dismount and walk 10 paces, so no big deal. It wouldn't surprise me if that snow is melted out by now.

There was zero blow down.

The road has no issues -- damn nice pavement in fact -- so absolutely no obstacles to shuttling.

The paved road (25) coming from Randle was still closed and under snow. But driving up from the south on Wind River Road or in from the west on 503/FR90 is no problem.
Falls Creek, Lewis River and Ape/Plains of A are all clear and AWESOME!
Yep. That's the impression across cyberspace this morning. Seems like there were a lot of people out doing those rides last weekend.

Thanks!
