To answer the question, "Why would I spend $700 on a wheelset I could destroy in one careless second?", Mavic has has come up with a two year warranty. "Accidents, unintentional shocks or crashes which occur while riding are NOT excluded from the MP3 warranty." I understand the cost is about 10% of the purchase price.

I may not (okay, will not) run out to buy a new Mavic wheelset, but it is an interesting offer nonetheless.
Oh, BTW Pearl Izumi is now offering a life time warranty on all their products which is retroactive.

It's nice to see someone standing behind their products longer than 90 days.
