I got coated in dust when I ate it off the 2nd drop... it was great!!

Has anyone aired out the bigger drop, I just couldn't sack up enough to drop that one today!

So badass to see stuff being built on a nearly daily basis, I love the fact that there is a new challenge almost every week!! (now if I could just land straight off the hit with the orange spraypaint on it, I screw that one up every time!)

We were airing out the whole trail. Leave it to wp to work drops and flow to the same trail. I can't wait to hit that thing when it gets a lil rain and packs down like rain maker.

i flatted the second one on friday, head bob city. Ian from bike school cleared the big one and exploded. took a few people down it today who were very much on the edge of thier comfort on this trail. When they rolled the big one and, to a person they were over the moon. this is such a confidence building trail, bring you friends and make them feel like a hero.

Love the circut back to lower Rainmaker. Shy Anne, Double J, Free Speech, No Quater, Rain Maker, Boot Camp, BeAll. Must be the best run in the world!

PS they are still building!
I rode this trail all day till I lost one of the pivot bolts on my bike. The whole trail is just perfect. The transitions after the drops are greatly built. The third one has more pucker factor than the others, but they do progressively get bigger. The second one will catch you off guard so make sure you check it out before hitting it. The third on has a bridge over Long Trail and once you are the apex get ready to drop. Bob from Mojo's followed my buddy and I down the trail and shot some footage I will see if I can get it posted up. Great job on this trail guys it is absolutely awesome. Some of the best built drops I've ridden you actually gain speed out of them and are able to carry that speed throughout the rest of the trail.

That one is tricky I've almost shot off to the right into the rocks on that one too a couple of times. I stay to the right on the lip and it seems to shoot me more toward the middle or into the berm better.

Mutchie,
What kind of trail access will there be during Crankworx? Can you list the closures on whatever days? Thanx.

Edit: Oh also, will the UG parking still be free this next wknd or does it go pay to pull revenue? Thanx again.
And some major improvements were made to the last few jumps on Boot Camp. Awesome to see new tweaks - props to the trail crew!
Great trail for sure... this kind of stuff is what Trestle has been missing. First two drops are butter, the arch bridge thing is cool, but IMO the transition is a little too short. It goes really steep to flat all of a sudden, and seems kind of easy to overshoot. Don't mean to be negative, I love the way things are progressing out there and all the new stuff. I'd just like to see that landing extended out a little further so you can jump that thing and not worry about landing to flat. Cheers!
I agree with flow down. you could really hammer those drops. we were landing to flat on pretty much everything. If the trannys were steeper then you could make them HUUUGE. We're hopeing that when everything packs down that you can carry some speed into the third drop and SAAAILL off the drop. Definaly a big bike trail if your gonna pin it.

I dunno if anyone saw it today, but they are also re-doing the first berm on boot camp. its going from 6" to about 4 feet...think rainmaker big. its gonna be rad for sure. Although it's easy to over shoot that first table as it is, i hope they plan on making it bigger now that you'll be able to carry some major speed into it???
I like the landing on the third drop as it causes you to gauge your speed and have your bike at the right pitch to hit the landing right. I've never really thought of a drop as a "sailing as far as you can go" without consequence type of trail obstacle. They should be varying on length height and landing. This causes you to be more technical in the way you ride and to have to approach each obstacle differently vs just sailing as far as you can off of each.
dup. post... sorry.
This is absolutely wonderful I was pinning it on saturday and the new trails are the rockstars of winter park. I love that they worked the wooden features over existing trails. It was so fast I ripped 8 spokes out of my rear wheel. keep up the good work!

I understand that point of view, but to me that third "drop", which is actually kind of an arched bridge, begs to be sent from the approach and cleared to the tranny like a big step down. I kind of assumed that's what the builders were thinking too. I watched a friend try this in front of me the other day and land to flat in the dirt, it was a scary moment, wouldn't recommend it. I guess it just doesn't work like that... can't build a feature to suit everyone.
This is killing me

Is that the wooden bridge thing? I came up on it and was surprised, you could roll it really slowly or drop it at a moderate speed. By airing it out do you mean to the dirt past the wooden landing? I think that would bottom my suspension.
this thread is WORTHLESS without PICS !!!!!1!!!!!

Come on weekend .... :D

Haha sweet! I've been scaring the crap out of myself coming in to that 1st berm entirely TOO HOT from the long straightaway! But that 1st table (assuming you're talking about the three down by the bridge) is a LONG ways away w/ a flat/slightly up area after the third berm. I don't think your entry speed into those tables will change unless Mutchie talks the trail crew into a ginormous double from 1st berm into the 3rd berm w/ a left hand wall ride (btw, why no lefty wall rides?) to keep your speed from the long straightaway :D
I already loved Winter Park, but now it's off the charts! Gone are the Warrior Princess days and it has become WAAYYYYYYYYY PINNED!

So much fun! I second the opinion that the 3rd drop is best sent before the lip, got it on my second run! So glad there are some drops now!

Don't care for the bridge they put on the big double on BeAll, glad I finally conquered it before they put that in. I can understand though, I'm sure people were casing the shee-it out of that before - I know I did the first few times.

Can't wait for Rainmaker to be completed from 5-points, saw the cut this weekend.

A+ for Winterpark! Headed back on Wednesday for the big show this weekend! Psyched!

Yeah, that's what I mean, hitting it off the high part of the feature. I'm getting a slow speed minimal drop (only hit it twice, and once & had just gotten up from eating it off #2!!) but going much bigger looks like it would be pretty darn flat.
