Another cool day from Iran.

This weekend I decided to go to the nearby city ( KaradJ) 40 Kms from home .And spend a day with local friends on their trails .

I used to do such rides more before and on a further city .
6:00 AM I waited for my friend in the car at our house for a quarter of an hour . And set off alone . Half an hour later he called and said : I was asleep and will take off right now. I suggested him to go back to bed .As I was in the middle of the highway .

7:00 AM I arrived at the appointment . The locals were warming up and chatting . Some of them were friends .Spent some time greeting till others arrived . and set off for the trail head.
Man their the most luckiest riders I ever saw .They have a bus route starting near their street and goes up nearly to the head of a bunch of their trails . All the bus drivers know and respect them .
Have you ever took a bus with your rig ‘ in full armor and colorful jersey ?!! all passengers just stared on . But many also were familiar with the scene .

Im always impressed with the unity riders have in other cities unlike our local gravity riders in the capital ( Tehran) .Well living in a mega city wont leave any space for friendship !! Right now we are following three legal procedures among our community .All three for frames which had made some argument between the owners and LBs’s covering warranty !!

Never mind .On that day we rode on two fabulous trails . For the first we pulled up the bikes for about 300 vertical meters .Some sections really tough and technical . I nearly popped out my ankle over there and till have pain . On the top of the ridge we was before of one those marvelous scenes . Deep deep valley tree covered at the bottom ‘ Cliffy slopes high above with caps . As I saw the first part of the trail I got nervous a bit . Something around 200 vertical meters .Steep really steep all gravel covered. While on it my front was deep in the surface stones were just to reach the rotor.

After that we got to the valley basin but still high .Rocky technical with several walls . As we went on the course was smother with more trees . At a time I found my self in a proper vegetable tunnel .But in autumn mode . I had to guess the trail as nothing was visible under the leaf carpet . We kept on changing sections and skills on this trail from every thing . High speed swifting among trees’ technical rockies ‘ walls ‘ slope single track ‘ S turns and ……

At the bottom we hammered some 10 Kms on asphalt to get back were we were.

After some rest and lunch again in the bus for another trail .This time the trail head was just beyond the but stop. So we cruised it for three times . A high speed course among orchards with plenty of man made ramps and jumps . But alas no photos.

At night I was more impressed by my friends hospitality . One of them brought me home for dinner .We had a ride in the town afterwards . and then time to good by .

On the highway to home I was just thinking what else could I demand from this world ? Cool type of recreation with full satisfaction ‘ Friends who only want me and I want them also only because we both ride !! And I thought : I made some more of those friends today ‘rode some cool new trails and hade a satisfaction which don’t think normal people can never experience even spending tons of money .

PiX :

1 : DH carrying Bus

2 : On the top of the ridge

3 : The steeps

4 : This is what I want from MTB . Not money nor high end components or podiums . But happy faces

5 : Golden trails

Made a solid mate months before leaving the UK. Sick rider and took the time to teach me. Loved his kid and woman more than anything which I relate to and in the end biking made us brothers for life. He was only the second bro I rode with and reminded me how much more fun it is to ride with someone than alone. Nice post again and sick pictures. The thing that makes me smile is the sweet rigs in the middle of nowhere. I am based in Korea and before moving I was concerend about access to equipment but even here there is a small community of freeriders and other than trying to get a medium or large size frame, asians are small, you can do well. My 36 rc2 and 729 rims arrived last night from the capitall - stoked!
