2010 Yeti 575 got stolen along with most everything else I had of any value in my place...It was the first nice mountain bike I ever got. I used to have a 2005 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp, not the worst bike in the world by any means, but wow it was a night and day difference between that and the 575. RIP 575 wherever you are!

Edit: And I can't even post a picture of it because my external hard drive with all my pictures got stolen as well!

Man, I feel for you! I have never had a bike stolen (knock on wood...), but I can just imagine the grief that it must cause you... Not to mention your other belongings... I know I would be pretty messed up for sure.
Hope that there's at least a small chance you will recover your bike/some of your stuff?

Unfortunately there is no chance to get the bike recovered. The person who stole it is being prosecuted, but there is no chance to get anything back....Oh well, I'll just start saving $ again to buy a new one - a long process, but it will pay off once I get a new one.

Sorry to hear about your 575. I'd be devastated if mine was stolen. At least you have the satisfaction of knowing that someone was arrested and is likely going to jail.

Anything covered by homeowners insurance?

Yeah, no homeowners insurance, I was living in an apartment at the time. Yeah, I could have had renters insurance, but when anyone asks me that I ask did they have renters insurance when they lived in an apartment and everyone responds no, so that makes me feel a little bit better. Thanks for all the condolences, hopefully I can be on a 2011 575 by March or so!

I have renters insurance :) I feel your pain. My Heckler was stolen 1 1/2 years ago. I just saw it on e-bay. I got it back. I am good friends with the dude now. It went through craiglist owners before he got it. Keep checking this site www.craigslook.com It will check every CL listing in the US for you. Also check pinkbike, ebay., and here. Be patient. Sooner or later it will pop up on CL. They always do.

I've been there man. A couple years ago some prick broke into my place and ripped off bikes, tools, computers, air tools, paint gun, painting equipment, DVDs/CD's, even my change.

Nothing was ever recoverd. The worst part of the thing was that my prized trials rig was stolen. Now who the heck is going to steal a seatless trials bike? I was in the process of re-tapping the brake bosses since my Magura HS33 stripped all 4 brake bosses in the frame. Bike had no rear brake on, so a trials bike with no rear brake is death. I hope the punk who stole all of my stuff and my roommates stuff died on my bike.

I always try my best to remember that carma is a b|tch, and people end up paying for it in the long run.

But stay optomistic, you never know the person might pawn it and you can get it back.

Best of luck dude, and keep your head up!

Mozy. Look into it
~$5/mo for online backup of whatever you got
Losing over a decade of digital photos and video is no joke.

Renter's insurance? Yep, I carried it and never needed it. I only started carrying it after I started keeping large aquariums and one of the places I lived required it for tanks over 20g. Once I had it, it just made sense to keep it. If even one of my bikes were stolen it would have paid for itself.

And my 575 was also stolen

Unfortunately I have to join this thread also. My 575 was stolen last week (9/24/10) in Sacramento. I don't seem to have any pictures of it either, but I found an image and made some notes on it (see below). I started a thread for stolen bikes in Norcal, and thought I should post on the Yeti forum also. Unfortunately, I had the wrong insurance policy with Farmers- $2500 deductible, my rates go up 35% the 1st yr I make a claim, and I can't switch out for 3 yrs. if I claim it. I found out State Farm had a better coverage plan for my needs overall, so I will switch to them and change my deductible to $500 before buying another bike. Anyways, if anyone runs across it, let me know. Thanks!

@characterZero - I actually had a replica hard drive that I kept at work that I would bring home every now and then and copy everything new I had gotten. Unfortunately I hadn't done so since getting the Yeti (about 6 months), but all in all I didn't lose too much digital.

@Radski, sucks big time my friend, best of luck in the recovery efforts.

I'm probably a couple months off from a new 575, so go me!
