Amoeba light in disguise

This started out as a 1.0 Lumen Sigma Tri-Led that ran on 3 AAA batteries. Scar disected it and Amoeba-ized it. Now it runs on a 9V and is 250 times brighter! I was looking for a wireless solution to clamp on my pugsley for night riding and winter visibility. It has about 2.5 hours of run time. This paired with my Amoeba lights on my helmet light up the sky. Thanks Scar for the great work, it is a one of a kind.

I think this is the ideal mode fo home brew lights, Get something cheap and mod it. There is heavy "build-from-scratch" work being presented regularly on the lights DIY forum but this seems to me the better way to approach it...especially when you can get cheap lights that have housings and mounts--Just gut it and stuff it.

Nice work Scar.

What I find the most Interesting is where it's mounted.
Freaking sweet work Scar. I swear I'll get one one day. Just gotta get everything else, like my frames, to stop breaking.
That is too cool! Is the spool mounted on the caliper bracket? You should be able to see through a blizzard with that setup:thumbsup:

I'm a little low on cash I could make you one sweet deal on one of the demos scar lets me tote around:D ;) :D Just kidding of course

Nice work Scar! Yah i was a little curious on the mounting location. I would break that off for sure!

Looking to light up the dark nights again real soon with a t.i.t.s. ride been too long!!
Very innovative. I'm also hoping the trail conditions allow for some packed-snow T.I.T.S rides again.

The light is attached a Paul Comp Gino light mount. I have it threaded into the lower fork braze ons that are meant for a front rack or fenders.

Ahhh, the temptation to put one on both sides;)
curious ... with the low mounted light combined with the higher mounted amoebas, do you find the resultant depth perception is improved?

Scar- you truly are the master ... we are truly not worthy:D
