Do you think that a new 2009 Altitude 30 is a good buy for 1930 us dollars? ( I would buy it in euros in europe by the way,..I just converted it in dollars).
Thery also have the Altitude 50 for 2300 Us dollars shipped.
...Also if I buy a 18" size..can I can I adjust the seatpost lower enough for the downhills?

Half the price is it here in the UK, seems like a bargain- where are you getting it from - could be interested myself at that price. I'd imagine you can gte the post enoiugh out of the way but I'd also suggest a Slayer is more suited to downhill work...
