Anyone seen or have a set of Altek Splitbeam v-brakes? I've got a pair I'd like to sell but I am not sure of their rarity and what price they might fetch. I also have the matching levers which are more abundant but still pretty rare. Any ideas/info/ etc? Thanks

Interesting, those acutally look kinda nice, like kinda trick. When I think of Altek, I think of the $5 cheapie replacement tidbits that'd go on a mid-low end bike when the original cast steel bits broke. These look remniscent of Sotellos "Box" Levers & a pair of Machine Techs.

The Altek levers are actually very nice. You know the Servo-Wave mechanism inside an LX V-Brake lever, the ones with the little plastic wedge? Well, the Altek levers have the same thing (admittedly without leverage adjustement of the LX levers) but in a much nicer, stiffer slop-free package than the conceptually intelligent but poorly executed version from the big S. Very comfortable, too.

And the levers are pretty damn light which is good too. Ive never seen trhe brake though.
