Does anyone here access the Aliso Wood Canyon system via Crimson Canyon road, near Canyon Vista elementary? I just moved to the area and live across Boundary Oak and have been riding the short two blocks to access the system there instead of at the main parking lot on Alicia and Awma. It's pretty much all of our dreams to be able to ride to our favorite trails, right? Well, my good neighbors on Crimson Canyon Rd are building a gate and it turns out that the residents in the houses at the end of the culdesac are none to happy about the occasional hiker and biker rounding the fence and making off down the trail.

Has anyone else here experienced any grief? Besides riding over the hill to Alicia and Awma or entering off of Canyon Vistas or Peppertree, is there another easy point of access? Thanks.

Check with the Rangers at 949-923-2200 or 949-923-2201.

I believe that the gate at Crimson Canyon Road is the emergency vehicle access down to the Hunwut Trail in Aliso Woods, and a legal entrance to the park.

Just call the Rangers Stan or Ed and ask if the entrance to the Hunwut Trail from Crimson Canyon Road is an authorized access. If it is, then just carry one of the County maps in with you when you enter the park from that area, and politely show it to anyone who questions you.

I'll also do some checking with the Rangers and will put up a follow-up post afterwards. If you get a hold of them, you might want to put up a follow-up post so people will have the correct info.

Hope this helps.

Jared, I live across the street from it too and just dropped in there yesterday. I'm in Memory Lane. I'm sure I've seen you before. I ride the all black Mongoose. I'm always looking for riders if you're interested. I think we may also have a way around the gated entry as well. Shoot me an email at [email protected]. Thanks.
