Quercus, your kids' pix were great.

I've seen that look at the finish line many times.

It was good to see everyone and get out for a ride on a relatively clear day. Thanks to Scott for leading our single speed ride.

Food/meat at the end would have been nice, especially after the 2 hours and beers consumed waiting for the BBQ to start. Maybe next year they can bring enough to feed everyone.

Failure To Lunch

Of the six mere mortals driving with me on the carpool, only one of us failed to Lunch. On the way out, we stopped at McD's for a survival feeding. My young daughter got a Kung Fu Panda out of the deal, and the rest of us got ice cream Sundays. So it wasn't all bad.

1. Where the lunch failed
2. Some were more desperate than others to find food. (I think this is just cleanup perhaps.)

Hi Big L-
Nice snaps. I'm impressed that Dan'ger can take his cute girl out there- never too early to enjoy MTB. Hee. & i wanted to thank yoU again for being a great & coordinated c-pool host. :drumroll: If i wasn't guarding our 6 bikes, i wanted to treat you to a McD's snack (but you already had 1 by the time i got in there).

Nice to meet other MTB(e)Rs again- Dan'ger (& thx. for the 1st aid) & Guru (see you in couple of wks. in OR/MBO).

Jumpers

I was totally impressed by these dudes. I can't get more than a foot up from gravity's hold. They were getting up to something like 40+ inches. Amazing.

Here's just a couple of the many spectacular jumps.

Well, it turns out that I didn't take any pictures until after the family showed up. I must have been having too much fun hanging out with good friends and riding hard!

Dan'ger'ess snapped this shot at the ranger station when we turned around to go back to get something to eat.

Cheers!

My wife is smart. There was no line for the goulash so she went and got a couple of bowls while we waited. Good thing, too, since the food was gone by the time we got there. It's OK, they'll get it right next year...I hope.

I had a great time riding with the mere mortals (who seem like regular bikers to me). They're a good group. Got Rocks, I'll see you at MBO. Next time I'll bring a sandwich.

It is so important that we share our images.

They bind us together in a common place and time. I have nearly 700 hits on my picture site and that tells me that what we do has meaning for many.

Thanks for posting these guys. Mike, you looked like you were having the time of your life capturing the event. I think I saw you run by three different times with camera in hand. You might have had more fun snapping pics than I had on the ride. We all benefit from your interest and willingness to do this.

Thanks again.

This looks like fun .A family event no less. Perhaps at the next MTBR event I could everyone attend with my kids and meet all the MTBRs.
