Albion Hills - first time... any tips?

I`ve never been but I`m going to Albion Hills for the first time on the weekend. Can any of you let me know where to find the single track? Do hikers also walk where the bikes are? Are there advanced trails? Is there an admission fee or can you ride in for free?

Thank you.

isn't there a 24 hour race at albion his weekend?
There is a 24-hour race on Saturday/Sunday so you won't be able to ride there unless you're in the race.

To your questions:

- get a map from the gatehouse ($4 fee to enter)
- the black arrows is the singletrack, though it includes double track
- if you park by the chalet (directions on map) the singletrack starts out front of the chalet and follow the signs (getting lost is fine, place isn't that big)
- I've never seen a hiker on the singletrack
- the singletrack is loaded with rocks and roots, but it's plenty hard (and fun) in terms of climbs and twists

If you've planned a trip here and still want to ride, Mansfiled Outdoor Centre is about a 1/2 hour drive north and there are other places within an hour drive.
Hey Noonievut...

Thanks for the info... and the heads up on the 24 hour. I`ve been to Mansfield, but never to Albion.
was there around 1pm today.. the place was nice and empty.. the 24hr. course was a blast to ride (still had all the markings up) plus free Gatorade :D :D :D

back on topic... the place is great for all types of riders.. from newbs to pros, find the right trail for you and ride it
