I've been working to help Alan Bonds get his website, clunker.net, online.

Here are some photos we took yesterday of a couple of Excelsior builds. The first bike is a two-speed with a shift lever, and a Union drum front brake. I rode this bike yesterday and it is perfect.

had an old schwinn middleweight w/one of those years ago. one of our sales guys comes back to the shop and sees it, "cool bike", squeezes the 2sp lever, k-lunk it goes, "brakes don't work too good" he says.......

Brain fade. Alan's site is called clunkers.net, and it is now online in its first crude stages.

Love that bike, the photos do not do Alan's paint job justice and yes it rides as good as it looks (and should ride better when the rear hub is adjusted). First thing that popped in my head was "Need to put a 2 speed on the La Salle". Thanks for helping Alan with the web stuff :thumbsup:

Here is the bike Alan built for his daughter. 1937 Schwinn Autocycle modified with the addition of a 70mm Sturmey Archer front drum brake. Note the inch pitch drive train.
