You know those days when everyone at work is a complete dill hole, and then you start to turn into one? I was headed down that path today so after work I headed home, tossed the bike in old red and made tracks to the closest trail.

The water runs swift through Pine Valley on it's way to thirsty Denver. I'm sending my bad day down the river.

For the first time this year I went up Strawberry Jack trail rather than the Buck Gulch abuse I normally take. Man it's soooo much easier going up this way!

I think the rocks all over this area are really cool, you can see lots of strange stuff in them.

Had to stop and water my horse.

Leaving the burn for the trees now.

Taking a run down through Charlie's, smooth and twisty!

Slick rock Colorado style.

By now the dill holes at work are a distant memory. The trail cures all.

Not a bad view.

Just in time for the run down, a little Truckers Atlas (bootleg Mouse) came on my phones. Couldn't hurt to do a little rain dance while I'm here. What a dork!

Not exactly crowded up here during the week. It was time to head home for some grub. It turned out to be a nice day after all.

I have boxer shorts that look just like that, infact its the ones I am wearing now, maybe I should just go cycling in my boxers?

"modem users beware" - thats what brought me into the thread, what about cable modems?? :p

Of course I dont have a modem right now, I run fiber optic's

I've always loved the fact that I can get there in a little over an hour - it must really suck having that place out your back door.

This is what its about...

See for all those naysayers who complain and leave Passion, this is what they miss.

Awesome post... One I can really relate to... Dillweeds at work... indeed. I gotta go ride my bike tonight.

Awesome post and I couldnt agree with you more, what better way to wind down a stressful day than to ride, but to be able to ride in someting that awesome would be even better. beautiful place, Im very jealous. I would so love to ride in a place that looked like that.

Did you really take the pics of yourself or was someone else there?

By weird stuff on the rocks, are you talking about the lichen?

Anyway, great post. I'm jealous that Pine Valley is your nearest trailhead. That's some fun riding up there, but I have to reserve it for weekends. Too long drive time for after work. I hear ya on the work thing. Same thing happened to me yesterday and I immediately made tracks to Apex and rode every loop in the system. Very satisfying. Perfect night last night, wasn't it?
