Two fantastic events are upon us on the Arizona Endurance Series schedule.

This Saturday, Nov. 20th is the Picketpost Punisher. Three distances to choose from. How much punishment do you deserve? That's up to you!! A Route, aka the Pulverizer: 76 miles, B Route with optional time bonus out-n-back through Box Canyon (take a selfie at the end of the canyon): 49 miles and the C Route through Arnett Canyon - expect a bit of sand this year after the floods, but it needs tires!! 22 miles.

Then on Saturday, Dec. 4th it's time for a trip to Pleasantville. It's roughly a 60 mile clockwise loop around Lake Pleasant with a boatload of singletrack and a backcountry vibe along the north side of the lake. Staging details for this one are forthcoming...stay tuned.

Bring some post ride beverages of choice, a chair, and your best heckling!!
I'll be at both, planning on the Picketpost Pansy route, aka C Route. There's already 40+ signed up for Picketpost, including some 13 or so for the A Route!! Holy moly. Bunch of El Grupo riders....go get 'em!!

I'm really thinking about heading out for the C route, JS. Too wore out for anything else. You being on the C route is making me really want to be out there... Definitely on the "most likely" side of heading out to Pleasantville. I'd really like to ride those two climbs after Table Mesa :)

Hope to see you out there Mike.
The Punisher C will be interesting - to see what happened in Arnett Canyon. I hear there may be some sand...

Definitely try to make Pleasantville. It is a pretty cool route. Some great views of the lake from the north and some rather interesting stuff near the Agua Fria. It is a lot of miles, but there are many easy miles. Also, there are supposedly a couple of springs just right off course on the north side. Need to check that out.

Yeah, I mean the C route is short so gotta have some kind BS in order to keep it in line with AES standards :) - I have actually ridden the Pleasantville route before (but I connected into it from my house) and on a different day than the event. I didn't know about the springs - might be worth trying to find those. Definitely looking forward to seeing some familiar and friendly faces.

It was a very fine day for the Punisher this past weekend. The trails were in better shape than many expected (given this summers monsoon). We had a group of 13-15 year olds come out and finish the C route - which is rad. Results are posted.

AES schedule for 2022 is also up.

Jeffro, let the AES webmaster know it's no longer 2020....:) 2022 dates are listed as 2020.

Pleasantville is this Saturday!! 60 mile CW loop around Lake Pleasant. Ride starts and ends at Kirsten's place right off the Maricopa Trail along Desert Hills Dr.

Pleasantville

Please park in her front yard if possible, overflow onto 23rd Avenue. Coffee will be available around 7a if you need your java fix, bring a mug/cup. Post ride: bring a 6 pack and/or snacks, let's return the favor to Kirsten!! Swimming pool (not heated) & hot tub will be available!! Bring a chair and plan to hang out for a bit.

Looking forward to your race report! I'm in Anthem, not back in town until next week however...aaaaand 60 miles is probably outside my range by 20 miles. But I've been considering riding that direction from the house. I finally rode some of the Maricopa trail East, just to New River Rd (was heading to New River and up the back side of Daisy Mtn), trail was pretty blown out from motorized stuff and deep sand. Nicely marked still, but the locals have been thrashing it on ATV's it appears. Looks like the Maricopa West was in much better condition.

Here's a race report from '18, the only change is the slight difference in starting/end locations.

Oh man...just when I was assuming it was all flat and boring (should have known better)...you always deliver the details and great pics! Now I have to get over there and check out some things! Glad to know about the eagle nesting season. I've ridden the trails AT the lake (but not as far as the floating bridge) and ridden that section of BCT, the rest is all new to me. I'm always looking for new stuff to ride from the house. Enjoy your ride this weekend!

Really great day for a ride around the lake. I did end up finding Solo Spring. It is less than half a mile off course so we'll need to make it a bonus for next year's Pleasantville.
There is a concrete wall in the cave to create a nice, deep pool of spring water.

Woah, super cool. I was really bummed to miss this, was all prepped and had my six pack entrance fee purchased. Woke up feeling like trash - didn't think being on the bike all day would be a great idea.

I'm thinking of hitting it up next Sunday from my house - solo. I saw Bart say something like the bridge area was a disaster? Any details on that?

I almost wish I could take credit for the Gorge of Death!! Sure would be nice if the bridge was repaired. Bart ended up backtracking and taking the road around, everyone else found a way through...just like the track says!! Haha!!

I had a big fat DNF thanks to a rear tire that wouldn't seal a good size puncture. It finally held as I was almost back to Kirsten's place and has held fine all weekend. It was nice hanging by the pool watching everyone else roll in.
