I use to mountain bike once and while when I was about 14 and now, 4 years later, i want to get back into it.

My price range is 400-650. I went to one shop that recommended a 16" trek 4500 for $580.
I'm almost 5'9" and 160lbs. Is the trek 4500 a solid bike to get and is it worth it to upgrade to disc brakes?

any other suggestions for bikes?

just a normal hardtail i guess i dont know that much about bikes. I guess an all around bike is what I'm looking for just for mountain biking

For just a HT you would do well looking at the Alpine series from Ibex the 550 for $569 has good components & disc brakes. If you can swing it the 650 at $669 has better components to handle a 18 year old thrashing. :rockon:
