To this site. How many out there spend way too much time on this website? I get on here and before I know it, an hour or two has passed. It has gotten to the point where I don't dare get on here when my girlfriend is home. She thinks it's a big waste of time. So any one else out there have a serious addiction to this place? or is it just me who needs therapy? Any thoughts on how to walk away after fifteen minutes? Any funny stories on how this website interferes with your relationships?

I am a forum junkie and this place gets most of my computer time.
Hey Gus apparently nobody else has this addiction. I may be calling around for the best counselor this morning.

I am but I blame the weather. Its becoming nearly impossible to get out there and ride with the snow accumulation and the single digit temps. Coffee and MTBR have to suffice until Spring arrives.

Funny I can't remember how I used to keep my sanity before the internet.

Yup

It is a good 'ol Canadian winter here and I don't do cold riding so yeah, this is a regular stop for me. No better way to count down winter by reading about bikes. I like the ride pics from the warmer climates, makes me think of summer.

Hell, I can here the buzz of mosquitos already.

Being an IT guy I'm by default a forum guy.

This is basically my new home.
When I'm on the net, I'm usually on this site.

I've kinda abandoned my other favs for this one.

ROFL, this is about the only site I've been where having a LOW post count makes you look better. :p

Obviously, I look like I never leave my computer but I swear I ride alot, even in the rain and freezing temps this winter.

Addiction

desperate deranged talking in my sleep again eyes twitch
retain a sentimental something looked lorn and we burned and burned
I was a cinder body soul in my dreams breakdown amidst the mixtures
avoid addictive plea responding disillusion encrusted cruelty decribe
why nails enclose me eating so evenly there exists a lot of reasons
to support fatality abstience possessed hardly what you think it is
hearts beat positive provided there's progress ignorance does insist of
the right coffin took some food offered me can't see myself drank the
wine wished the feverish burst of terror breakdown amidst the
mixtures avoid addictive plea insist that nothing happened chilled
bloodless fatigue recharge with bitterness fanatics beckoning mistook
a look impassioned absorbed with clarity consciousness drifts away
discarded memory packaged shelf life bad display breakdown amidst
the mixtures avoid addictive plea excessive near romances comfort
is treachery so pound the nails in tight eyes screaming out of sight
against a grain like curtain unbearably alive

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Nope, not addicted. I can give up anytime I like.

In fact, just yesterday I gave up 6 times! :)

Cheers,

can't be an addiction if it yields good things, right? I mean, right?!!

Addicted? Nah, come on, this couldn't be an addiction. Addictions interfere with your life. This website improves your life! I mean, if I'd never surfed MTBR, I never would have:

  • Converted my old hardtail to a singlespeed (I really, really owe the passionate posters in the SS forum a favor for that one)
  • Thought of drilling out my cable stops to run full-cable housing
  • Given Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes a try (after trying hyrdos)
  • Learned various hydro disc-brake adjusting tips, like the business card trick

And the list goes on and on. On the other hand, I, er, just realized I'm at work... ;)
