Replaced chain, crankset/rear cassette and chain. But will not change to big ring which is 44T. Looking at it now the old shimano crankset was 42T . Anyone know if I've got a mis -match here?, also I have a 12-32T rear cassette now, so will I need new deraillers for that too?
( been riding years but not this'modern' stuff)
Thanks

I'm not an expert with my bike tools either, but I'm learning...

Just bought a new LX Crankset for my Rockhopper (44T Big Ring). Had an Alivio Front Derailleur (also threw on an LX Front). Installed everything by myself (little scary). The 44T Big ring not only has more teeth, but it has a bigger diameter. You'll have to loosen your derailleur cable and physically move the derailleur higher up on your downtube so it can clear the big ring. You want the chain guide to be 1-3mm higher than the ring.

Good luck!
