Does anyone have a reasonably accurate weight for one? I am doing some upgrades this spring :D and I am trying to forecast where it will end up (not that it really matters though). I had the LBS weigh it with some plastic platform pedals and I swear it was 28.2 lbs (medium frame, US spec).

When I look at the UK spec bike from last year (their X2), it is almost exactly the same except tires (20g lighter each), no pedals (.8lb) and different seat, seat post and brake set. There bike is listed at 26lbs w/o pedals. When I add the pedal weight, tire weight and estimate the seat/post/brakes weights, I am still missing about a pound  .

I know, I know....stop typing and buy a good scale, I will soon, but then I will have this "my bike could be lighter and I don't know" question bouncing around in my head until then.

Thanks for the reply!

....But now I am even more confused.....I was thinking other people's bikes would come in lighter than mine. I read the magazine article on the 2009 Giant UK website where they state the X2 (very similar to the US X3) weighs 25.8lbs (very close to the 26.01 lbs quoted by Giant). I am inclined to believe that a UK spec bike does weigh around 26lbs.

Did the US bike get the secret lead downtube option??? :skep:

I am missing something obvious here....what is it?

okay, just read your original post and now you have my attention. I've looked at both specs and I can honestly say I'm baffled. Unless that's an error on the UK website for the the X2 model weight I'm lost. I've listed and highlighted the difference from both models. I will add this, the rotors on the US X3 model are shimano SM-RT51 which tend to be on the heavier side but I seriously doubt that is where the missing pound is at.

My Ax2 is a bit better specced than the the UK version, with full XT package including brakes, and better wheels, and my L weighs 26 lbs with Time pedals, and nevegal tires.

UK claim may be wrong. IDK
