I am replacing (well my dad is, but im picking the bike) a bad bike that i picked up cheap at a swap meet, a Lahona. I am 5'9" 120 lbs and 13 years old. i have been looking at 29ers, especially bikes sold at performance because my brother works there, so we can get a really good discount.:D i want a hardtail, and have mostly looked at the Access XCL 9.7 9r because i will outgrow the frame and its cheap. i am wondering if you have any recomendations on what to look at under 1k or maybe under $1,300 at performance. most of my riding time is on singletrack, with rocky washes/gullys/dips (fantasy island). but i ride on a variety of trails in a variety of places.
thanks:)

... that it's a good frame, especially considering the price.

Go for it, if it fits you and you like the way it rides. I might suggest test riding a bunch of stuff to be sure its the best choice for you, for the money.

Reality is, most major manufactureres make good product. It's like shoes... whatever fits you best, is best for you, but may not be best for everybody.
