Just for some fun I thought I'd throw this thread in to see what everyones pics are for the best of for 2006 past or present!
Feel free to add anything to the catagories as no doubt I will miss something! Since this is a Turner board we mainly build stuff up so OEM isn't really a valid catagory correct me if I'm wrong. Catagories and Products do not neccesarliy need to be a new product could be an old fav enjoy, also this could be a money no object vote not just what you have.

* Best Fork - Biggest surprise PIKE 454
it deserves its praise and really is an awesome fork. I love all Zokes so its hard to say.

DH RS Boxxer WC only had a little ride but wow I loved this fork, rode a new DHi GT yep the new model not released yet at LBS
* Most underated Fork - PIKE 454 again it deserves more the maxle is a fantastic conception considering I remove wheels from a 36, Z1 and now Pike most weekends the maxle makes me smile.
* Best Shock - Cane Creek Double Barrel coil air jurys still out for me on DHXa so RP3 rulz air
* Best Hubs - Kings for trail only cause after 2 1/2 years still bullet proof, Hadleys still rule for me AM/FR gold yum bling / I9s for the new kid on the block time will tell if bullet proof look & sound promising?

* Best Rim - DT5.1D early days but so far liking em

* Best Bar -Easton nano carbon, RF diablous/ Diety white is hot hot
* Best Stem - Thomson X4 trail AM, Easton Vice FR/DH
* Best Seatpost - Gravity Dropper remote
* Best Saddle - WTB Pure V Ti comfortable, durable
* Best Crankset -Race Face Atlas, 2yrs and bullet proof
* Best Pedals - Crank Bros Mallet Ms
* Best Shifters - Sram X0
* Best Derailuers F/R - Sram X0 Carbon Med, XGen has been reliable if not bling should be XTR really, I just can't do it though since its Shimano I'm anti Shimano after the whole proprietry BS from a few years back now it hasn't worked theyre back with more marketing BS. Go Sram don't get to big and forget yr market u rule.
* Best Brakes / Pads - Kool Stops been good to me wear well silent and adds power
* Best Cables - Nokons with Sram cables
* Best Tires - Hard Catagory, Kenda / Schwalbe new kings I haven't ridden yet them but liking em already
* Best Tubed or Tubless - easy Tubeless more options TireCoys
* Best Chain guide - Not sure haven't tried too many ops but I'd go with Ts reccs here the Hemi sounds great
* Best Backpack - I love my Dakine Nomad just wish the pockets were easy to get at like camelbaks comfy, sits well and heaps space,also camo.
* Best shorts - Hoss theyre on there way camo lol
* Best Jersey - I like Race Face jerseys and Dakine have a really nice feel breath well, oakley is hot right now too hard to get here though
* Best Gloves- Oakley with carbon knuckles yummy
* Best Helmet - Zen camo (pity no desert storm camo urgh)
* Best Night Lights -Light in Motion Lion Ion I love my lights
* Best bladder fluid for riding - Water
* Best food on ride - Gummy bears / waffles
* Best ride location - Roto Vegas / Plantation Forest / The Clock in CO NZ/ I want to come to US and Canada 2 / AK Woodhill, Riverhead, Whitford
* Best T Transporter - 06 Toyota Hilux Turbo Desiel she rocks

* Best Seatpost - Gravity Dropper 4" & 1" drop with remote
* Best Saddle - WTB Pure. My bottom's best friend.
* Best Pedals - Shimano 959 and Easton Flatboys (too many others tried)
* Best Tires - Kenda Nevegal stick-e. 2.1 rear, 2.1 or 2.35 front (currently finding out). With stan's no-tubes (had to scrub them from within so they would seal.). First tire ever I absolutely like.
* Best crankset tooth sizes - 22/36/bashguard combination. Close enough to shift great. Hardly ever spin-out.
* Best everything else - still undecided...

* Best Derailleurs - F/R - R = SRM XO F = XT
* Best bladder fluid for riding - Water, Diluted Gatorade for long and WARM rides
* Best food on ride - Clif Shot Blocks, eat one then suck another as you pedal. Just do it! FRS is good too.
* Best ride location - Pisgah, DuPont, Whistler, Tanasi, where else have I ridden lately?

If everyone wanted to get serious rolleyes: ) about this, we could have a annual Homey awards, patterned after the Grimeys that the Passion forum hosts every year. This would be more about the people rather than the gear and a good chance to either honor or humiliate those who really deserve it.

First step is to agree on the categories, then set a time period for voting, which would be done by email or PM's which keeps the results unknown until they are compiled and posted.

Ideally it could be timed so the awards could be handed out at the fall gathering.
