Planning a trip out there the end of June. The goal is to do whistler & squamish, but I can fly for dirt cheap into Abbotsford

Is there any decent trails in Abbotsford to ride? and also any transit options to travel from there to Vancouver to meet up with another rider and head to Whistler/Squamish from there.

Good riding yes, I've hardly scratched the surface so no expert, but Sumas has fun trails then a couple places out by Chilliwack are really good.

Transit not really anything easy, there's the west coast express train from Mission, but it's not frequent. Just looked at the bus options on google, do able but looks really long haha.

You have a couple of good riding areas around there.

Sumas and Ledgeview are a good combination. By BC standards they are not huge riding areas but they are big enough for a good day of riding. There is also the Bear and Red mountain combo on the north side of the Valley in Mission. Really good riding there. And if you head east a bit you have Vedder and Vedder is pretty damm amazing.

As for Transit. Good luck. Best bet is to rent a car.

FYI, Whistler and Squamish are nice but the really good riding is the interior.

West Coast Express train has some limits for bikes on the train, it's only a rush hour train, so it only runs west in the morning rush and east in the evening rush. The west bound trains leave Mission between 5:25AM and 7:25AM. The furthest east it runs is Mission, so you need to get to the north side of the river from Abbotsford.

Just got my first adult bike! Hoping to do some gravel riding. Live in Abbotsford, work in Chilliwack. Any recommendations for a beginner? I’m reasonably fit, just getting used to a road-style bike. It’s a Cannondale Slate, but with a fixed fork. (Apex 1)
