I always buy new spokes for every New wheel. They will prob. work but it's not a good idea.

A Ringle Rear came with my frame. I was ahhhh man a Ringle. I just heard people talk mad smack about them. But It's the best Hub I've use yet. Had way less trouble then with my Hadleys.
not worth it to use old spokes....just buy them new

You can buy different gauged spokes regardless (to my knowledge, there's probably an exception though...) of the hub/rim choice. What you need to do is buy the correct length spokes for the hub/rim choice that you've got. I'd be willing to bet that the Shimano/S-Type spoke length is different than the Abbah/S-Type spoke length.

Check out the spoke calculator on DT-Swiss's website, that usually gives accurate information from my experience with it.
it doesnt have my rim on that calculator thing.? so what should i do to figure out what spokes to get?
Also check MTX or Eight Track for rims, they're the exact same. Chances are the hub profile is different, which will affect the spoke length.

Just to be sure... Make sure the number of holes in the hub corresponds to the number of holes in your rim.
