A9C CYA has play in frame...

Currently using a threaded CYA insert in my A9C frame and experiencing lots of creaking at BB level. By checking, I see that the CYA insert has play and can be easily removed from its seating.

I have read this thread http://forums.mtbr.com/niner-bikes/niner-bio-centric-681535.html and I am wondering if the Carbogrip will also apply to my case.

Any idea ? Do I need to replace the CYA insert ?

Thank you

Hopefully a bad cya insert

I have removed and swapped my cya cups between BSA and PF30 each time it took some descent effort with the cya removal tool to come out. Put some calipers on it to get a measurment and contact NINER. IMHO i don't think the carbo grip would help.
Definitely email 9er customer support or your 9er LBS, but I think the fix is to use liquid plumbers tape.
What style bottom bracket are you using? The CYA inserts only work with external type BB / Crank interfaces.

There are many CYA adapters, i use the BSA threaded one. I really don't see tour point.
His point is that some BB systems tend to push the threaded CYA inserts apart from each other.

Understood. Cool, is that by design ?
