I agree about the physical barrier, rumble strips won't do much to stop an idiot driver from veering over while on his cell phone fiddling with his radio at the same time. We should really be taking a look at what they're doing in Europe, everything cycling and transportation wise is years ahead. I remember seeing in Seville, Spain there was actually a full on raised curb between the road and the bike lane.
btw, what's with that ignorant comment that person left at the bottom of that article!? Even in todays bad economy and state of environmental decline, I can't believe there's still people around with such negative attitudes towards cycling and any other alternative transportation for that matter.
