I just found out today that on July 1st, REI no longer dealt with Yeti. So therefore no more prodealing from them.


Not that I was gonna be able to prodeal another bike anytime soon, but it was comforting knowing that if I won the lottery or married rich, that I could get onto SnapLink and prodeal a 303 and ASX. Sadly now I'll have to settle for an Ellwsorth or Cannondale!!!! :cryin:

I think if I ever have to get another Yeti product, maybe I'll just pay retail for the frame and then build it up with parts I've prodealed.

Oh believe me I'd love to, but I'm addicted to paying for brand new things at way less than retail.


One of our assistant managers had her heart on getting I believe an AS-R, but when she logged on and was gonna order it, lo and behold prodealing from Yeti was no longer available as of July 1st. So she said she was gonna have to settle for an Ellsworth (for some odd reason REI has an agreement with 'em). She really sounded depressed about it .

So for the time being, I'm just gonna keep good care of my baby and hope that she stays with me for quite some time.

If I do have to get another bike and I'm still employed by REI, I have the pick from the following...

BMC
Cannondale
Litespeed
Electra
Ellsworth
Scott
Marin
K2
Novara
Tomac
Redline?
Salsa

And probably a couple of others I have missed.

But no Yeti . After spending a year on my bike and this forum, I really don't see how I can ride anything else. Don't get me wrong, if Turner or Ventana or Titus or Santa Cruz had a prodeal with us and I needed to replace the 575, you can be damn sure I'll look at those bikes. But man, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 575 and I love this forum. I just can't see myself riding anything else.

With that list of availability, you're likely to make a few new friends. I played on a Fourstroke on my trip to Utah last week... nice ride. I'd be inclined if I had the $ for a short travel racer.

It's no 575, though.

I never saw ANY Yeti's at my local REI over the past 2 years......

Forget retail. Call fullcycles.com or some other online shop and get it on the cheap. It's no prodeal but it's no retail either.

Because average Joe who walks into REI will most likely not go for a complete 5K bike. That's why there are 200 dollar Novara hardtails and 800 dollar Novara FS bikes where I am with a noname shock. Then the average joe would be more likely to buy one of those. If they only sold Yetis with a 5k price tag, those people would go elsewhere. Only people like you and me would be in the market for one.

The bike selection at our store is geared more towards the Greenbelt (paved path) rider and dirt path type of rider. We have a couple of higher end Scott road bikes, but those things have been collecting dust. We mainly move "budget" bikes.

I've been into other stores like Seattle and Salt Lake and they've had better bikes than our store. Probably just all depends on demographics and sales history. The SLC store had a handful of Yetis in last summer.

Well I forgot to add in that we also get Norco bikes. After doing some quick research the other day, they have bumped up to the top of the list IF I ever decide to get another AM or FR bike. It sounds as though they are a pretty solid, reputable company. Second on the list is Scott and their Nitrous or Ransom series of bikes.

Still would much rather get another Yeti at prodeal cost though....
