FYI:
I rode on the trails across from Colonie Park this morning, and the property owner has started to build what appears to be a new housing development on the section closest to Rte. 9. The trails are torn up, and whoever was operating the heavy equiptment made obvious attempts to dig up and block off the existing trails with knocked down trees. It's a shame to lose such a great trail system, but with all the ribbons and new paint that appeared on the trees, I knew it would be a matter of time.
You can still ride about 3/4 of the trail system there with a few short hike-a-bike sections. If you liked the trails, you better get out and ride them this weekend. I'll bet come Monday morning, they will be back in there.
