I've been riding a pair of Nobby Nics on my Banshee Paradox this past season and have liked them a lot. They are getting a bit worn and I like the aggressive look of the new Hans Dampf which are now available in 29". The listing on the Schwalbe website has the tires as available with two different tire compounds, PaceStar and TrailStar. I've done a search on the Schwalbe site and I can't find any definitive information about these compounds.

Does anyone know what these compound names mean.

The Pacestar uses a harder center compound and softer side compound so it rolls faster but still corners decently. The Trailstar I think is softer in the center for better traction, but rolls slower and wears quicker. I think Pacestar is more XC oriented. I could be wrong, but this is how I understood it.
