A lot of water in Nomad2 frame

574 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Simonns
So last night on my bike home from work, I got caught in a little rain shower, or more like a down pour for about an hour. Anyway, this morning I flipped the bike over to take the front wheel off and a good couple cups of water came out of the seat tube. Im guessing it doesn't hurt the frame much since its aluminum but it did add some weight. I haven't really examined the frame to see where it would have got in but I just thought it was strange and wanted to hear some thoughts. Thank you.

Very normal. I have to do this every ride in the winter months.

Yeah, not uncommon for lots of bikes actually.
Seatpost isn't sealed, very common.

I use ShoeGoo to fill in gaps so I don't get water in the frame from there in the winter.
Huh, I guess either I have never noticed it before or never was riding when it was raining that hard. And now that I think about it I did read about this with the Heckler and I think someone drilled some drain holes in it. Thanks fellas for the info and reassurance.
