Some good lookin bikes there. :cornut:
oh yeah that whole cracking issue. Ibex doesn't actually make them right? Aren't they ordered from some factory?Duckiller said:I thought they were going to put reinforcements on the seat tube on the new Iggy? Looks the same to me. If they did not change the design I would stay away.

Ibex has claimed in several places that they design and build those frames "in-house", in addition to the regular posters here making the same claims.FortOrdDirt said:oh yeah that whole cracking issue. Ibex doesn't actually make them right? Aren't they ordered from some factory?
Anyone wanna buy a seatpost?? FFSJake Pay said:Beefier seat tube:
The outer diameter is still 34.9mm but the inner diameter now takes a 27.2mm seatpost instead of a 31.6mm..
Ah ha! That in my mind is a better fix than just slapping a plate on it. Definitely would buy now.Jake Pay said:http://www.ibexbikes.com/Bikes/IGN-FRM-Details.html

I'm a little confused. The only models on that site that match are the old Zone and Atlas, both of which I believe Ibex stated were outside designs. The same thing goes for that DW-link frame which was presented as an outside design.Jerk_Chicken said:Ibex has claimed in several places that they design and build those frames "in-house", in addition to the regular posters here making the same claims.
Those claims have since died down since I indicated that I took pictures at the Astro booth at Eurobike's Taiwan section and spoke to company representatives. There was the entire line, labeled with Astro's stickers, waiting for orders (which they were getting) from various private-label companies.
Here is Astro's online catalog:

They have factories both in Taiwan and Vietnam.
You can find most of the entire line there, along with the FS frame Jack posted several months ago, that was called out by Dave Weagle, as it was in violation of the DW Link patent if brought to the US, along with other patents for the floating shock used by at least one other company:

I have well over a dozen pictures I still haven't posted of this fact.
Shouldn't you be fighting crime in the Ellsworth forum?Jerk_Chicken said:Ibex has claimed in several places that they design and build those frames "in-house", in addition to the regular posters here making the same claims.
