Aye chihuahua today was long. It is Mrs. tberg's birthday and she chose to ride a two-mountain epic. Has she never heard of day spas?
Amy (Mrs. tberg), Todd (tberg), Steve (Rockin), and I started with a seven mile road climb to the Round Mountain trailhead, after which we survived a brutal and steep climb to the top. As you can see in the pics there was a lot of walking involved, especially for the two of us on singlespeeds. If that weren't enough of a good thing, we crossed the saddle to Lookout Mountain, which we rode and wrote up last week (see previous thread).
From this viewpoint we could see much of the Central Oregon Cascade range. Off in the distance you may be able to make out several of the snow-capped peaks. The peak to the furthest left is Mt. Bachelor, below which is Bend.
2nd pic: The final 10 feet is the steepest of all.
3rd pic: Across the valley you see Lookout Mountain, to which we will be riding over then down.
4th pic: Check out the wind-swept trees and brush.
Here we have reached the top of Lookout Mountain. I don't think any of us took any pics on the climb up because we were delirious by the time we started climbing it and pictures became deprioritized.
